Maintaining Your Beauty - Make Up Tips

There is a very good reason that make up professionals are called make up artists: putting on make up to full and best effect, enhancing beauty, in a way and style complimentary to an individual's face, is an ART. This is why film stars and supermodels have make up artists attending their every make up need, and why ordinary women could do with a few beauty make up tips to help them out.

As with most arts, few people are actually very good at make up, and some, or even most, are poor. So, it stands to reason that most women, while they do their best to look beautiful, are not going to achieve the standards of make up they see in glossy magazines, on television and in Hollywood movies. Those immaculate eye lashes, perfect lips and wonderful skin are just that little bit beyond them, unless they go for a professional makeover.

However, once a few basic make up tips are available, and are applied, many women can get closer to the level of beautifully presented make up they desire. They may not be ready for a job attending to the beauty needs of the top stars and models, but they can ensure they look well presented whenevr they go, with their own make up "dressed to impress".

So, here are a few beauty make up tips that may help you move up to the next level of make up expertise:

1. Do not assume you have to be professionally trained. You can achieve at least very good results on your own, if you are prepared to practice and learn.

2. Foundation is appropropiately named; it is indeed the foundation to your make up and you need to get it right to have a chance of achieving the best results possible without calling in a professional make up artist. The rest of your make up will not look right iof the foundation is wrong, so take your time over this essential phase of preparing your make up. Do not hurry, or it is back to the drawing board and starting afresh.

Your choice of foundation should match your skin color as closely as possible. Remember, you are preparing a base for the rest of your make up, not altering your skin color. You should take extra care around the jaw line, as even with a perfect color match you can end up with a line around the jaw, leaving yourself looking like you are wearing a mask. To overcome this, you must take care to blend the foundation very carefully, and in good light so that you can really see the true result.

3. For an extra glow effect, just apply a shimmer moisturizer before your foundation.

4. For those with dark circles under their eyes, it is essential that you cover those circles before applying your foundation. If so, then have a good look at the color of the shadows, and then match these with a similar concealer color. Be careful when applying concealer that it is not too thick., just sufficient to conceal the dark colors.

5. After applying the foundation, it needs to be set with a light dusting cream powder. However remember not to use too much, you do not want the powder lying on top of the skin.

6. To finish off your facial skin makeup, do not forget to apply a blush. This will assist in defining your cheeks, and give your skin a nice healthy glow. Do not go overboard, you are not dressing up like a clown. It is definitely a case of subtlety is best with much of your make up, and that includes the application of a blush.
