The Importance of Exercise to Beauty

Few people would argue that inner and outer beauty are not connected. However, most people think of a beautiful and well intentioned personality as the inner beauty that will reflect on the outside. But that is not the only aspect of the inner self that can be reflected in exterior beauty. Your health and fitness, too, can be reflected by how you appear on the outside.

Looking after your physical fitness is crucial to maintaining your beauty for as long as possible, and looking natural. Diet is important, of course, especially for the appearance of your skin and your trim figure; also important, though, is exercise to keep you fit . Exercise works in more than one way to keep you looking at your most beautiful:

a. Your overall health is affected greatly by diet and exercise. A healthy person is more likely to be able to maintain their good looks at their peak for longest. Ill health can soon be reflected in facial expressions, demeanor, the eyes, and the skin. Beauty can disappear fast in a sick body, so looking after it is all important for those concerned about maintaining their natural beauty.

b. Not only will you be fitter and healthier with the right amount of exercise, but you will feel so much better too. That will help you to feel confident and energetic, which in turn will be reflected in your expressions, smile and radiance.

c. The better blood flow and oxygen supply around your body will also supply the skin, boosting your own natural skin care system. That will show in your face, as well as elsewhere in your body.

Types of Exercise

If you feel like going to or joining a local gym, then that's fine, but if not, do not worry. You can get sufficient exercise for general health benefit on your own, just as part of your daily routine. If you do not get enough exercise already, then just aim for thirty minutes a day for 5-7 days a week. The exercise can take the form of walking, cycling, swimming or even using exercise equipment at home. You choose; so long as it gets your heart pumping well and works up a bit of a sweat.

There are, of cause, other types of exercise that will help you in different ways. One of the best hobbies to take up for both fitness and health, as well as maintaining the suppleness of your body, is yoga. If you have a yoga class near you, give it a try if you have not done so already. Yoga is a wonderful discipline, best learnt with a teacher. However, CD's and DVD's are also readily available to help you learn at home.
